Chronic Pain for Massage Therapists
Learn how to help others find relief from their pain
Service Description
Learn how you can teach your clients to feel less pain, even if nothing in their life changes. Using a biopsychosocial approach to pain we can teach the brain new ways of processing and responding to pain signals. In this class we learn how to help clients access tools that can help them process the role that trauma plays in pain, especially when that pain becomes chronic. Learning Trauma Informed Care can help clients feel safe to process the emotional component that comes with pain. We will introduce concepts of somatic tracking, progressive relaxation, energy work, reiki, and lymphatic drainage. Learn how to help clients find relief when surgery, physical therapy, and other forms of pain management are not working. Massage therapists are an essential part of the healing process, especially for clients who need a more holistic approach to finding relief from pain.
